• Tri-County Youth Football League Week 6 Scores and Week 7 Schedule (skooknews.com) — Tamaqua's youth football teams split Week 6 results, with the A-team edging Pottsville and the B-team falling in a close matchup, as the Tri-County Youth Football League season rolls on. Week 7 kicks off October 3–4 with games across Schuylkill County, though Tamaqua gets a bye, so local families can still follow rivals' matchups and plan weekend travel.
• Schuylkill County Obituaries for September 29, 2026 (skooknews.com) — Tamaqua is mourning longtime resident Thomas F. Elison, 80, a Nativity BVM graduate, Army reservist, antique dealer, and devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Pottsville. His Mass of Christian Burial is set for Friday, October 2, with a morning viewing at the church and interment to follow at the parish cemetery for those wishing to pay respects.
