80-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle In Paoli Monday

Tredyffrin Police said the man was in a crosswalk when a turning vehicle struck him at about 10:18 a.m. Monday in Paoli.

PAOLI, PA — A man died today after being hit by a car in the Paoli section of Tredyffrin Township Monday morning, police said.

Police said an 80-year-old man was in the crosswalk South Valley Road and Lancaster Avenue when he was struck at about 10:18 a.m.

Police have not released the decedent's identity pending family notification

The striking vehicle was making a right turn from South Valley Road onto eastbound Lancaster Avenue, police said.

According to police, the striking vehicle's driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Witnesses in other vehicles as well as nearby business owners also helped at the scene.

Tredyffrin Police officers were assisted by the Chester County Serious Crash Assistance Team, Tredyffrin Township Public Works Department, the Paoli Fire Company, and Newtown Fire Police while processing the crash scene and conducting the investigation.
