Audition For 'The Perfect Dog' At Footlighters Theater Next Month
Four performances are scheduled in November as a lead in to the the National Dog Show.

BERWYN, PA – Calling all local actors: Footlighters Theater in Berwyn is hosting open auditions for a fall show that will be presented as part of National Dog Show Month in Philadelphia.
The theater will host auditions for "The Perfect Dog," adapted from the book by National Dog Show host John O’Hurley of "Seinfeld" fame, at 7 p.m. on both Monday, Aug. 7 and Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the theater.
The casting includes roles for two teens, two adults and a number of "dogs" to be played by humans of varying ages and sizes.

Productions of "The Perfect Dog" will be shown Friday, Nov. 10, Saturday, Nov. 11, and Sunday, Nov. 12, as well as a special encore show on Thursday, Nov. 16 which includes a talk-back session with O'Hurley.

The shows will be presented leading up to the annual National Dog Show Presented by Purina at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks.
"The Perfect Dog" was adapted by Jill Abbinanti, whose credits include "Law & Order" and "CSI," and the music is by David Abbinanti, whose credits include "Ghost" and "Saturday Night Fever."
The show tells the story of Sam, a 12-year old perfectionist, searching for a flawless dog to enter in the town’s dog contest. Unable to find a canine that measures up, Sam must resort to training the family dog, Max, who is less than eager to obey commands. In the end, Sam and Max learn that there is no such thing as perfect, but there is such a thing as being perfect for each other.
The Footlighters Theater is located at 58 Main Ave., Berwyn.
