Berwyn Fire Co. Members Climb Lincoln Financial Stairs For 9/11 Foundation Fundraiser

Each of the members climbed the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center while in full gear. Well done.

BERWYN, PA – As if the recent news of several Berwyn Fire Company members heading to Texas and Louisiana to help with hurricane relief wasn't enough, a few members braved the heat this weekend in Philadelphia to raise money for the National Fall Firefighters Foundation.

Fire company members Mary Ellen Toscani Cleary, Joshua Lichman, Eric Javie, and Evan Brazunas participated in the inaugural Philly 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb & 5K Walk at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, Sept. 23, according to the fire company.

Each participant climbed the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center.

"Thank you to the Philadelphia Fire Department, Red Paw Emergency Relief Team and the Philadelphia Fire Department Family Association for bringing together first responders from across the area to make this a successful event," the fire company said.

The event serves to honor and remember the FDNY, NYPD, Port Authority Police (PAPD) and EMS and who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live on Sept. 11, 2001 responding to the terrorist attacks.

Well done!
