Berwyn Fire Co. Volunteer Joins Hurricane Relief Efforts
While one member headed down south, two others came home from a stint of providing aid to affects communities. Well done!

BERWYN, PA – Another member of the Berwyn Fire Company is stepping up to help the affected communities in Texas that are still dealing with the destruction form Hurricane Harvey.
Berwyn Firefighter John 'Jack' Zabinski headed to Texas to help with Team Rubcion, a group that pairs skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to deploy emergency response teams in short notice, the fire company said.
Zabinski flew to Texas with Valley Forge Firefighter Lorenzo Gianandrea, where they will assist with the disaster relief and recovery operation in the massive state, according to the fire company.

While Zabinski headed down south, two other Berwyn Fire Company members returned back to Pennsylvania after helping affected communities.
Captain Evan Brazunas and Firefighter/EMR Mary Ellen Toscani Cleary returned from their deployment with Team Rubicon in Harris County, Texas, the fire company said.

During their time in Harris County, Brazunas and Cleary assisted Team Rubicon and FEMA with identifying what the continued needs are of homeowners in the disaster zone, the fire company said.
They also assisted with the movement of supplies for the overall disaster relief operation, according to the fire company.
Shortly after the hurricane hit Texas and the Gulf Coast Berwyn volunteer firefighter/EMT William 'Bill' King, longtime career part-time firefighter/EMT Anthony 'A.J.' Pizzi, and career part-time firefighter/paramedic James Herb shipped out to Texas and Louisiana, respectively to assist with relief efforts with Team Rubicon and Pennsylvania Disaster Medical Assistance Team.
