Conestoga Crew "Henley 10" Update
The Conestoga Crew "Henley 10" are representing the U.S. in England at the prestigious Henley Regattas.....see the full story!
Conestoga was well represented in the US and England this past weekend and those of us there in England had the locals joining in on the “’Stoga, ‘Stoga, ‘Stoga” chant on the banks of the Thames.
The Girls Varsity Double (Ali Siegele and Nicole DeStefano) and Varsity Quad (Annie Graf, Meagan Hudson, Maddy Tessier-Kay, and Becky Simonetti) both competed in the Women’s Henley Regatta on Saturday. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Henley, the races are held going against the river current. As it rained just about every day up until race day, the water was high and fast. The weather still wasn’t cooperating at race time with heavy winds and rain. Both boats had stiff competition but managed to finish in the top 8 in their classes. Both boats raced well and there were many comments on the “girls from the States” putting up a good fight. The Varsity Double returned to the States on Monday and the Varsity Quad stayed on to qualify at the end of this week for the first Women’s Quad race of the Royal Henley Regatta.
The Boys Varsity Quad (Mike DiLucca, Cuyler Hamilton, Ben Morosse, and Nick Nalbone) completed one of their last “practice” sessions in the States on Saturday by winning Gold at the Schuylkill Navy Regatta – excellent job boys and way to get ready for Henley! They have now joined the Girls Varsity Quad and will have their first race on June 26th. Until then, they’ll be practicing along with the other International crews (and the Girls Varsity Quad) and learning the intricacies of the Thames!

Also, don’t forget to tell your family and friends that our PayPal account is still open for tax deductible donations to help defray the costs of sending these 3 boats to England to represent Conestoga and the US. We are about ¼ of the way to our goal and every penny counts, so no donation is too small or too big! The PayPal is located at the Conestoga Crew website: www.conestogacrew.org.
