Conestoga Crew Team at 4th Manny Flick / Horvat Series Regatta

Under sunny skies and breezy conditions, the Conestoga Crew team took to the Schuylkill river on Sunday to race in the 4^th Manny Flick / Horvat Series Regatta.  With 15 boats entered, the day of rowing begin early with the girls rowing in the morning this week.  Callie Maslowsky and Ivy Hollander finished 1^st in the Novice Girls 2X; while Madeline Beirne and Annina Ruggirello finished 1^st in the JV Girls 2X; and Sarah Thomas, Rachael Devlin, Amy Connell, and Isabel Geddes finished 1^st in the JV Girls 4X.  Later in the morning Sophie Bodek and Angela Sarkisian finished 4^th in the Ltwt Girls 2x; Jenny Alcorn, Emer Ryle, Katie Groves, and Maddy Amsterdam finished 1^st in the Ltwt Girls 4X; Brianna Kaufmann and Molly Dudrear finished 3^rd in the Varsity Girls 2X; and Anne Graf, Maddy Tessier-Kay, Megan Hudson, and Rebecca Simonetti finished 1^st , and remained undefeated on the season, in the Varsity Girls 4X to conclude the girls racing for the day. 

The boys had the afternoon schedule,  and it began with Ryan Hollinger finishing 4^th in the Novice Boys 1X; Timothy Kao and Sean Johnson finished 4^th in the Novice Boys 2X; and Ted McGovern, Michael Kling, Jacob Hinderer, and Jacob Novak finished 1^st in the Freshman Boys 4x; Anders Backstrom, Maarten Monster, Austin Coney, and Carleton Monster finished 1^st in the Novice Boys 4x.  Next, Richard Stone and Hanan Zisling finished 3^rd in the JV Boys 2X; Niall Carlson, Steven Devlin, Max Malarkey, and Nick McNamara finished 2^nd in the Ltwt Boys 4X.  The boys racing schedule concluded with Andrey Lanahan and Jared Ingersoll finishing a disappointing 5th in the Varsity Boys 2X; and the day concluded with Sean Pepin, Tyler Simpson, Brian Kane, and Nathan Leibowitz finishing 3^rd in Varsity Boys 4X. The Conestoga Crew team has a busy schedule of competition this coming weekend as they travel to Mercer Lake, NJ for the Mercer Lake Sprints / ISA Sculling Championships on Friday and Saturday then return to the Schuylkill river for the 5^th and final Manny Flick / Horvat Series Regatta on Sunday.  For more information about the Conestoga Crew Club go to www.conestogacrew.org .
