Back in 1930, renowned bandleader and composer, Duke Ellington scored a major hit with his collaboration, “Mood Indigo.” This song combined the efforts of the Ellington orchestra’s timely arrangement and order of clarinet, trumpet and trombone performing sound pitches from highest to lowest.

Mr. Ellington’s eloquent explanation of his work was simple, according to history.com, Duke stated, “Well, I wrote that in 15 minutes while I was waiting for my mother to finish cooking dinner.”

Future President Gerald Ford marries divorcee Elizabeth Bloomer
Back in 1948, Gerald Ford, who would become the 38th President of the U.S, married Elizabeth “Betty” Bloomer, a model. This was Mr. Ford’s first marriage and Ms. Bloomer’s second. They were married for 58 years before Mr. Ford’s death at the age of 93 back in 2006. Mrs. Ford died at the age of 93 as well, in 2011. They had four children: Michael, John, Steven and Susan.
Gretzky breaks Howe’s scoring record
Back in 1989, Hockey Legend, Wayne “Great One” Gretzky scored 1,850 points against the Edmonton oilers, breaking Gordie Howe’s NHL record.
Mr. Gretzky retired in 1999 as a NY Ranger with the total career points of 2,857.
Comedian Drew Carey, debuts as “The Price is Right” Host
Back in 2007, Comedian Drew Carey became the new host and Bob Barker’s replacement for the game show, “The Price is Right,” the longest-running game show in television history. The 83-year-old Barker retired after hosting the show for 53 years. Mr. Carey was 49 when he started hosting the game show.
