We are an Oral and Maxillofacial surgery office practicing a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from wisdom tooth removal to pathology. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries and TMJ disorders, and performs a full range of dental implant and bone grafting procedures

Dr. Gretzula's staff is trained with I.V. sedation for his state of the art office setting.

Your First Job:
Grocery store bagger when I was 15, had a few other jobs while in school ranging from sales at Sears to manager at McDonalds before starting my medical career.

The most important lesson you’ve learned: Learning who you can trust in life and business.
What do you like about doing business in Devon and Berwyn: The people and my neighbors around me. Everyone is kind and friendly. The businesses that have been around for some time seem to want to help and make my business grow.
Person most interested in meeting (can be any time in history) and why: My great-great grandfather on my dad’s side. I was told he was an incredible businessman and had a great personality with people!!

Award/honor you are most proud of: 2012 Mainline Today Top Dentist Award. I have only been in the new office a less than a year and it was nice to receive the award for all the hard work I’ve been putting into the practice.

Favorite Room in your Home and why: Our master bedroom, it’s perfect for romance with my wife and snuggling with all four kids to hang out, watch TV or play games!
Favorite Way you spend free time/hobbies/interests: Golf, just about any sporting activity, giving tractor rides to my kids in the yard and training for a triathlon.

Quick Bio:
Chad Joseph Gretzula, D.M.D. was born and raised in Dickson City Pennsylvania. Growing up in Dickson, Dr. Gretzula was very athletic playing basketball, baseball, soccer and also participated in cross country running. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman being in Boy Scout troop 73. Dr. Gretzula is the eldest of three boys, his brother Scott is a police officer in Dickson City and his brother Jason is in healthcare.
Dr. Gretzula's interest in medicine started at a very early age. Both of his parents had told him that since the age of five he wanted to become a doctor, as he was always showing an interest in medicine. In high school at Bishop O'Hara, while a member of the anatomy/premed club, he was introduced to medicine and able to see a variety of fields including Oral Surgery.
While attending undergrad at The University of Scranton, Dr. Gretzula frequently externed at Holy Redeemer Hospital with the Oral Surgery department, increasing his passion in Oral Surgery. He graduated Cum Laude and received Excellence in Biology, one of the school's highest awards. Dr. Gretzula also was awarded the Dr. Bernard Shair Memorial Award from the Scranton Dental Society for scholarship, sportsmanship, humane qualities & leadership. He was president of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society and a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical honor Society.
Dr. Gretzula attended The University of Pennsylvania Dental School. He graduated at the top of his class and was active in many community projects and societies including the Psi Omega Fraternity. He also assisted in teaching gross anatomy during his 2nd, 3rd and 4th years, being promoted to head assistant in his 4th year. After receiving his doctorate, Dr. Gretzula continued at Penn receiving a certificate in Advance Education in General Dentistry before going on to surgical residency.
Dr. Gretzula continued his Ivy League training for Oral & Maxillofacial surgery at the hospitals of St. Raphael and Yale in New Haven Connecticut. Dr. Gretzula has extensive training in all facets of oral, maxillofacial and reconstructive surgery. His training also includes but not limited to exposure to otolaryngology, craniofacial, head & neck cancer reconstruction and cosmetic surgery. As a certified specialist in oral surgery, Dr. Gretzula is in an active private practice, providing a full range of surgical services to patients in the community. His interests include dental implant reconstruction, aesthetic skeletal facial surgery, corrective jaw surgery, facial implants, facial trauma surgery, joint surgery/reconstruction & extraction of wisdom teeth.
Oral Surgeon, Dr. Gretzula, has a warm, gentle manner which goes along with his great caring and concern for all of his patients. During his career, Dr. Gretzula has constantly endeavored to stay abreast of the latest developments in surgical technology & techniques and advances in the dental sciences.
Dr Gretzula is very family oriented and he and his wife Becky and four children Brandon, Zachary, and twins Gavin & Dempsey all enjoy outdoor activities including camping, fishing and a multitude of sporting events. Dr. Gretzula is also a runner, having competed in the New Haven Road Race, a half marathon.
