Back in 1886, Chester Alan Arthur, the 21st President of the U.S., passed away at the age of 57 due to complications of Bright’s disease, a fatal ailment of the kidneys.  According to Whitehouse.gov, “Dignified, tall, and handsome, with clean-shaven chin and side-whiskers, Chester A. Arthur looked like a President.”

Some people called President Chester a “lazy administrator.” According to history.com, “Former President Rutherford B. Hayes, Arthur's term as president was most notable for "liquor, snobbery and worse." Although he had been ambitious as a young man, he was considered by many of his contemporaries to have been a lazy and "foppish" president.”

Billy Joel goes to #1 album with “52nd Street” 

Back in 1978, multi-talented musician, Billy Joel scored a #1 album with “52nd Street,” an album in which he written and composed nine tracks with popular tunes such as:

According to history.com, “52nd Street was the highly anticipated follow-up to Joel's 1977 breakthrough album The Stranger, which had achieved Platinum status and made Joel a household name on the strength of singles like "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)," "Just The Way You Are" and "She's Always A Woman."

Billy Joel has sold close to 80 million albums worldwide trailing only behind other musicians such as Garth Brooks, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Eagles.

Time Zones are established for American and Canadian Railroads

Back in 1883, a design of using four continental time zones to alleviate the problems of moving passengers and freight throughout the U.S and Canada.

According to history.com, “The companies agreed to divide the continent into four time zones; the dividing lines adopted were very close to the ones we still use today.

Most Americans and Canadians quickly embraced their new time zones, since railroads were often their lifeblood and main link with the rest of the world. However, it was not until 1918 that Congress officially adopted the railroad time zones and put them under the supervision of the Interstate Commerce Commission.”
