Back in 1863 during the turmoil of the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln spoke 272 eloquent words in 2-3 minutes within the most memorable speeches of a president, “The Gettysburg Address.” The purpose of this event was for the President to confirm the need for the Union to win this war and the purpose to achieve freedom and equality for all.
According to history.com, “Reception of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address was initially mixed, divided strictly along partisan lines. Nevertheless, the "little speech," as he later called it, is thought by many today to be the most eloquent articulation of the democratic vision ever written.”

Back in 1831, Cleveland OH, welcomed the future 20th President of the U.S, James A. Garfield.
According to history.com, “Garfield served in Congress during the Gilded Age when corruption ran rampant in politics. He was implicated in a scandal that rocked the administration of President Ulysses S. Grant in 1872-1873, in which members of Congress were given shares in the Credit Mobilier construction company with the expectation that they would lend their political support to the company's railroad ventures. Although it was never proven, Garfield was accused of accepting a $329 bribe.”

President Arthur’s reign was cut short at a mere six months when he succumded to his injuries after being shot and mortally wounded by assassin Charles Guiteau. He died at the age of 49.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest flies into theaters
Back in 1975, actor Jack Nicholson starred in the screen adaption of the Novel based on Ken Kesey’s “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” The movie that was based on a group of mental patients in an institution was directed by Milos Forman and co-produced by actor, Michael Douglass.
According to history.com, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest went on to become the first film in four decades to win in all five of the major Academy Award categories: Best Actor (Nicholson), Best Actress (Louise Fletcher, who played Nurse Ratched), Best Director, Best Screenplay (Adapted) and Best Picture.”
