Back in 1926, Harry Houdini died due to peritonitis after a performance in Detroit, MI. Mr. Houdini’s ruptured appendix was caused due to two unexpected blows to the stomach from a student after a discussion on how stomach muscles can be strengthen to withstand hard blows.
Mr. Houdini was a magician and escape artist. According to history.com, “In executing his escapes, he relied on strength, dexterity, and concentration—not trickery—and was a great showman.”
Author, Arthur Conan Doyle publishes “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes”

Back in 1892, the first collection of The Sherlock Holmes series debut with Author Arthur Conan Doyle’s, "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes."
According to history.com, “Conan Doyle was born in Scotland and studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, where he met Dr. Joseph Bell, a teacher with extraordinary deductive power. Bell partly inspired Doyle's character Sherlock Holmes years later.”
