Back in 1957, Little Rock, AK faced opposition to integrating the all-white Central High School. Arkansas Governor, Orval Faubus used the National Guard to prevent nine black students from entering the premises. President Dwight D. Eisenhower thwarted the effort and federalized the National Guard and sent the perfect escort for the students – 1,000 members of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division.

Back in 1970, a television show was hugely successful due to a red-headed smart aleck kid, a psychedelic van and of course David Cassidy. This show called, “The Partridge Family,” made great music with songs such as, “Get Happy,” and “I woke up in love this morning.”
The premise of this series was a widow and her 5 kids travelling around in their psychedelic van touring as the singing group, “The Partridge Family.” Additionally, you cannot forget Danny's friendly antagonist and Band Manager, Mr. Kincaid.

Editor's Note: All grown up, Danny Bonaduce eventually became the morning DJ on Philadelphia's classic rock station 94 WYSP where he worked until a format change turned the station from rock to sports and sports talk on Labor Day of this year.
Satchel Socks the Red Sox for 3 innings
Back in 1965, Kansas City Athletics pitcher, Leroy “Satchel” Page pitched 3 innings against the Boston Red Socks at the age of 59. Only one hit was allowed under his great pitching feat. Mr. Page a.k.a. “The Ageless Wonder,” was easily voted into the hall of fame in 1971.
