NFL Player, Walter Payton breaks Jim Brown’s record - This Day in History – Oct 7th

Back in 1984, Chicago Bears running back, Walter Payton carried the ball for a total of 154 yards breaking the record of another running back, Jim Brown. 

Mr. Payton, finished with a total of 12,400 yards, a mere 88 more yards than Mr. Brown who competed this back in 1965.  Mr. Payton’s rushing record was surpassed by Dallas’ Emmitt Smith in 2002 with a total of 18,255 yards, which is still yet to be beaten.

Mr. Payton died of cancer in 1999.

Scottish Actor, Sean Connery Bonds with Never Say Never Again

Back in 1983, Scottish Actor, Sean Connery returned as James Bond in the film,

Never Say Never Again.  Mr. Connery had previously played Mr. Bond in the movies:

• Casino Royale
• From Russia with Love
• Goldfinger
• Thunderball
• You Only Live Once

The title of this movie, “Never Say Never Again” reflects Mr. Connery returning to playing the super spy, James Bond.  In fact, according to history.com, “The film’s title referenced the fact that the Scottish-born actor had previously remarked that he would never play Agent 007 again.”
