President Cleveland Dedicates Gift of Friendship From France - This Day in History – Oct 28th

Back in 1886, the people of France sent the U.S. a gift of friendship that is a major landmark of the City of New York, “The Statue of Liberty.”  This gift was originally defined as, “Liberty Enlightening the World,” when it was directed by Edouard de Laboulaye, the French historian.  This “Lady Liberty,” was a symbol of Franco-American alliance during the American Revolution. 

Hollywood Actress, Oscar Winner, Julia Roberts is born

Back in 1967, Smyrna, GA welcomed future Hollywood Actress, Julia Roberts a star of memorable movies such as:

Ms. Roberts continues to be a favorite at the box office with fans and fellow actors as well.  According to history.com, “Roberts was married to the country singer Lyle Lovett from 1993 to 1995. In 2002, she wed cameraman Danny Moder, whom she reportedly met on the set of her film The Mexican (2001). The couple has three children.”
