President Kennedy Advises Americans to Build Bomb Shelters - This Day in History – Oct 6th

Back in 1961, one year before the Cuban Missile Crisis, President John F. Kennedy advised Americans to protect themselves by building bomb shelters.  The President felt that this was necessary to protect American families from any nuclear fallout from the Soviet Union.

Elizabeth Taylor ties the knot for the 7^th time

Back in 1991, Hollywood legend, Elizabeth Taylor, married for the seventh time.

Her latest groom was construction worker, Larry Fortensky, whom she met while they were both patients in the Betty Ford Center for Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation.  They exchanged their vows at Michel Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. They divorced five years later in 1996.
