The iconic movie “Scarface” debuts with Al Pacino
Back in 1983, Italian-American Actor, Al Pacino played the movie role of Tony Montana, the Cuban refugee and soon to be Miami crime boss. Tony Montana becomes wealthy by being a cocaine dealer but his empire starts to fall apart due to his drug addiction. Oh, by the way, Tony has a scar on his left cheek, thus for the name of the movie, “Scarface.”

Over the years this movie has become a cult classic. One of the most classic lines from the movie is mentioned by Tony,” “Say hello to my little friend.”
According to history.com, “The film was loosely based on a 1932 gangster film of the same name, directed by Howard Hawks and reportedly inspired in part by the real-life mobster Al “Scarface” Capone. Though De Palma’s Scarface received mixed reviews upon its initial release and was criticized for its violence, it proved to be a success at the box-office and went on to achieve pop-culture status.”

Mr. Pacino was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his in “Scarface.” The movie, which was directed by Brian DePalma, also starred Michele Pfeiffer, Steven Bauer, Robert Loggia and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.
Helen Reddy roars, “I am Woman” to #1 on the charts
Back in 1972 during the feminist movement Australian pop singer and songwriter, Helen Reddy sung an anthem for women that reached #1on the Billboard Hot 100, “I Am Woman.”
