Back in 1974, a film about a small, cute stray mutt called Benji opened in theatres and soon became a family classic. The movie detailed the dog’s plan to rescue a group of kidnapped children. The dog that portrayed Benji real name was “Higgins” and was trained by Frank Inn. Special Note: those of you who are old enough will remember Higgins playing “dog,” in the 1960s television series, “Petticoat Junction as well.”

The Drifters top the Charts With “Save the Last Dance For Me”
Back in 1960, the R&B group, The Drifters scored a #1 pop hit with their classic, “Save the Last Dance For Me.” Artist such as Patti Labelle and Michael Buble, Tom Jones and Bruce Springsteen has remade this song.

The harmonizing of this group made this song a hit with lyrics that stated,
"But don't forget who's taking you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin’, save the last dance for me, mmm"
This group would later created other classic songs such as, “This Magic Moment, There Goes My Baby, Up On The Roof, On Broadway and Under The Boardwalk."
The Drifters were inducted to the 198 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with a few famous inductees such as, “Bob Dylan, the Beach Boys, The Supremes and the Beatles."
