Child Sex Trial Looms For Ex Main Line Troubled Youth Teacher

A former teacher at a Main Line school for troubled youth who is facing charges of sexually assaulting a child will head to trial after she waived her arraignment on Wednesday, according to court documents. An exact date for her trial has not yet been set.

Nina Scott, 28, of Downingtown, previously admitted to having sexual contact with a 16-year-old female, authorities said.

Scott was a teacher at theVillage in Radnor's Rosemont section.

She has been charged with 34 felony counts of institutional sexual assault of a minor; 34 counts of corruption of minors; one count of felony concealment of the whereabouts of a child; and one count of interfering with the custody of a committed person, court records show.

TheVillage is a school for trauma stricken and behaviorally troubled youth. Scott was terminated from her position there last year.

The alleged assaults occurred between February and October of 2016.

Police said when the victim's room at a Luzerne County youth services center was searched, staff found a journal where the victim made romantic references about Scott and letters from Scott to the victim.

The next step in the process is Scott's pre-trial conference, a date for which has not yet been set, according to court documents.

Scott is currently free on $100,000 bail.
