Community Hopes To Nix Digital Billboard In Paoli

A proposed digital sign at Lancaster Ave and Route 252 in Paoli would require the demolition of the R. Brognard Okie 'Clockworks' building.

PAOLI, PA – A proposed digital billboard has residents in the Paoli area up in arms, so much that community members are pushing to ban the billboard from being used.

Catalyst Outdoor is hoping to get permission from Tredyffrin Township officials to install a digital billboard at corner of Lancaster Avenue and Route 252 in Paoli.

But community members have launched a Change.org petition in hopes of putting the kibosh on the electronic sign.

Those opposed to the sign say it could create visual pollution, cause distractions to drivers, and presents no gain to the township, among other aspects.

The petition has more than 2,660 signatories as of Friday, Oct. 26.

Another issue of the sign, according to opponents, is that it would require the demolition of the historic R. Brognard Okie 'Clockworks' building.

In addition to the Change.org petition, a GoFundMe page has been launched to get lawn signs opposing the billboard out to members of the public.
