Conestoga Grad Makes All Star Basketball Team In College Conference

Zack Yonda, a junior guard at Swarthmore College, was named to the Centennial Conference All-CC Second Team.

A Conestoga grad and Berwyn native was recently named to his college's conference all star team for his efforts on the basketball court.

Zack Yonda, a junior at Swarthmore College who plays guard for The Garnet, landed on the Centennial Conference All-CC Second Team.

The 6-foot, 2-inch guard was named to the Centennial Conference Honorable Mention list in the 2015-2016 season, as well.

Yonda, who graduated from Conestoga High School in 2014, set a Centennial Conference record for consecutive free throws made by draining 34 in a row between Jan. 7 and Jan. 28, according to Swarthmore Athletics.

While on the court for Conestoga, Yonda was a four-year letterwinner, averaged 11 points, six rebounds and four assists as a senior and captained the team for two seasons. He also led the team to the state playoffs and a third-place finish at the 2014 District AAAA Tournament among many other basketball accolades.
