Conestoga Softball Stays Hot

Three shutouts in a row for the Pioneers!

Conestoga softball continued on its quest for the Central League title with two shutout wins this week. On Monday they defeated Central League Rival, Radnor, by a score of 14-0 and on Thursday shutout Strath Haven by a score of 10-0.

Versus Radnor, pitcher Lauren Lofland pitched a one-hit, 7 strikeout game as Conestoga jumped out early on the Raiders. Conestoga scored five runs in the second and four in the fourth before scoring five to put the game away. Sophomore Claire Overton led the offensive attack with three hits including a double and a Home Run. Senior Cassie Milanek added a double and Olivia Cepielik, Lofland and Jenny Noll all chipped in with two hits.

On Thursday, against Strath Haven, Lofland was at it again as she threw a two hit shutout while adding another 7 strikeouts in 5 innings of work.

Offensively Faith Walker had a big day with 3 hits and 3 RBI's as she and teammate Lauren Lofland both had triples.. Katie Mayock (2RBI's), Olivia Cepielik and Lofland each added two hits. This game was the third consecutive shutout for Conestoga.

Next week Conestoga is ,away Monday at Harriton, before facing Ridley and Garnet Valley on Wednesday and Thursday at D'Ambrosia.
