
Frederick Sutherland of Devon, PA, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ARAMARK Corporation, has been elected to Chair WHYY’s Board of Directors, where he will support the strategies and initiatives that will lead Philadelphia's premiere public media organization into a successful future.
Mr. Sutherland joined ARAMARK in 1980 and has served in a variety of roles including Treasurer, Senior Vice President of Finance and President of ARAMARK’s Uniform Services Group. He serves on the board of Consolidated Edison of New York, and is chair of its Finance Committee. In addition to his work with WHYY, Mr. Sutherland is also President of the Board of Trustees of People’s Light and Theater, the second largest non-profit theater in the Philadelphia area, and a trustee of Episcopal Community Services, a Philadelphia-based social service organization.
Other WHYY Board elections named John F. Salveson as Vice Chair, and Larry Weiss as Treasurer. Barbara C. Bisgaier was re-elected as Board Secretary.
