Come and see how to encourage butterflies into your garden. If your garden includes nectar-rich plants for butterflies and host plants for caterpillars, you'll be able to enjoy butterflies in your garden. Gardener and photographer, Jane Ruffin shares her knowledge of butterfly gardening as well as her extraordinary photos from the field. You'll learn about butterfly natural history, other creatures that enjoy plants in the garden and an introduction to caterpillars.Come away with a list of plants you can place in your own garden to attract these beauties.

Jane Ruffin, who was born in England, studied art in London and worked for a photographer for several years. In 1976 she moved with her husband and two children to Pennsylvania. As a result of growing up in the countryside, Jane has always had a strong interest in natural history, espescially gardens and butterflies. She has been a volunteer in the Entomology Department at the Academy of Natural Sciences since 1985. She has been on three scientific expeditions to Africa with the Academy. Jane's photographs have been published in books and magazines and have won awards. She is an associate member of the Entomology Depatment of the Academy of Natural Sciences, a member of the American Entomologial Society, British Butterfly Conservation, The Garden Club of Philadelphia, The Leipidopterist's Society, and The North American Butterfly Association.
