Featured presentation: Life in Rural Pennsylvania during the Federal Period by Bruce Stocking

The 1820s in America was a time of exceptional growth and harmony within the New Republic, with farms expanding, trades developing into industries, and towns becoming centers of commerce. So why is this fascinating time in our Nation's history continually overlooked in favor of the Revolutionary War and the Civil War? Join Bruce Stocking, the historian of the W.S. Hancock Society, as he takes you back in time through the use of historical items, artifacts, and visual references, to explore this forgotten period in American history and to learn how the people of Rural Pennsylvania lived and worked in what was known as "The Era of Good Feelings."
