Old Lancaster Road Bridge Closure Moved To Saturday: PennDOT
The road will close Saturday, May 19 rather than the initially planned date of May 18 for bridge rehabilitation work, PennDOT said.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA – The closure planned for Friday, May 18 on the Old Lancaster Road bridge over Amtrak train tracks in the Berwyn section of Tredyffrin Township has been pushed back, according to PennDOT.
PennDOT said due to weather predictions and a subcontractor scheduling issue, the bridge will now close during the afternoon on Saturday, May 19. Tredyffrin Township officials said the closure will go into effect at about 4 p.m.
The road will be closed to drivers through August as crews work to rehab the bridge, according to PennDOT.

A detour will be in place, however, PennDOT said
The sidewalk on the bridge will remain open to pedestrians, according to PennDOT.

During the closure, passenger drivers will be directed over Lancaster Avenue/U.S. Route 30, Old Lancaster, Conestoga, and Howellville roads.
Trucks will be directed to use Lancaster Avenue, Bear Hill Road/ state Route 252, Cassatt Road.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area because slowdowns will occur.
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.
PennDOT's contractor will remove and replace the deteriorated reinforced concrete deck and curbs and 12 steel floor beams; replace the deteriorated concrete barrier wall at the southeast corner of U.S. 30 and Old Lancaster Road; attach new guiderail to the new barrier at the southeast approach to the bridge; and repoint the stone masonry abutments and wingwalls where needed.
