I wanted to take a moment to extend a word of thanks and gratitude to one of the members of our TE and Phoenixville Patch teams who is leaving Patch today.
Lucy Bennett has been my "boss" since I joined Patch and launched TE Patch in Spring of 2011. Without her guidance, and steady hand on the wheel as the Patch Regional Editor for the Main Line I shutter to think how much more difficult launching TE Patch would have been. (Many thanks to former Assistant Regional Editor Sam Fran Scavuzo too!)
Lucy had the wisdom to hire me in the first place ;-P But far more than that, she has been the guiding force behind the scenes for a band of 15 or so local editors who are working to build the best sources for hyperlocal news in the region and for many sections of the country.
It has been a learning experience and Lucy's behind-the- scenes expertise has allowed those of us who work 'front and center' to bring you more than we ever could have on our own. She is the person who has cut through red tape when needed, and offered her time and support to make each of us successful without reservation, often working well into the night. Ok, well into the very-early morning if truth be told.
I've had a lot of great bosses in my career. Lucy will always have a place among the most supportive anyone could hope to work for and with.
I am fortunate that she is a resident and native of TE (a Stoga grad!). When I was just hired to this day she has been an incredible "Human Encyclopedia of TE" and helped me learn my way around from Hilltop House to VFNHP and everywhere in between.
Thank you, Lucy for making working for Patch such a wonderful experience so far. You will be missed.
