PMB Rotary Celebrates Membership Month

The Rotary Club of Paoli, Malvern, Berwyn is celebrating August as "Membership Month," reaching out to the local community to encourage like-minded individuals to be a dinner guest at Aronimink Golf Club and learn about the mission of Rotary and how they can participate. It is an international organization of 1.2 million people in 200 countries, comprised of men & women of all ages, faiths, businesses and professions who are interested in giving back to the local and international communities by gathering together, making new friends, raising money and offering sweat equity to help others. Since the inception of PMB Rotary in 1930, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been donated to help others in our community and internationally. The largest campaign initiated by Rotary International in 1985 has been to eradicate polio worldwide. Rotary has raised $1.5 billion in that pursuit with additional contributions from the Gates Foundation over $500 million. Over 99% of world is polio free, thanks to the efforts of Rotary as one of the major supporters of that effort, and the goal is within three years this disease will be totally eradicated.
