Propane Ignites During Wayne Shed Fire Thursday Night
Gas in two propane tanks ignited as crews were fighting the shed fire Thursday night in the Wayne section of Tredyffrin Township.

WAYNE, PA – Propane gas in two 250-pound tanks ignited after a shed caught fire in the Wayne section of Tredyffrin Township Thursday night.
According to the Berwyn Fire Company, fire crews were called to the 700 block of Thomas Jefferson Road at about 8:25 p.m. Thursday for a report of a shed on fire.
The shed, located in the back yard of a home on that block, was fully engulfed as crews arrived on scene.

Flames were beginning to reach two 250-pound and several 20-pound propane tanks, as well as the Valley Forge National Historical Park, the fire company said.
Gas in the two tanks ignited, but firefighters were able to extinguish the shed and the propane tank flames, preventing it from spreading to the park, the fire company said.

According to the fire company, the shed and its contents were destroyed.
Tredyffrin Police, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company, King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company, and Kimberton Fire Company assisted at the scene, which was clear by about 10 p.m., according to the fire company.
