Saint Luke's Doors Are Open

At Saint Luke Lutheran Church all are welcome, no exceptions and their doors are open to those looking for a space to gather. Located at the corner of Conestoga Road and N Valley Forge Road, this vibrant congregation in Devon knows that sometimes finding the right venue is the most complicated part of hosting an event. With that in mind, they desire to be a resource to those in the community looking to gather for events both big and small.

Saint Luke has hosted events of all shapes and sizes from birthday parties, baby showers, and wedding receptions to fundraisers, support groups, and sports team banquets. When asked why Saint Luke rents its facility, Pastor Susan Ericsson replied, “We are delighted that our facility can be part of the significant moments in the lives of people in our wider community. We hope attending events at Saint Luke gives our neighbors a better idea of who we are as a faith community.”

And who is the faith community of Saint Luke? They are a welcoming congregation that loves to celebrate with the community in its joys and support them in their grief. They prefer the building to be bursting with life, rather than be quiet and empty. They love to see the parades of birthday party balloons and to hear the laughter of the boy scouts echoing down the halls. If they can help families have one less thing to worry about when faced with the grief of losing a loved one, they consider it all worthwhile.

Parish administrator, Allen Benner-Smith, welcomes community members that may be in need of a gathering space to contact the church. Saint Luke has affordable, flexible indoor and outdoor spaces that can be tailored for any event from meetings for ten right up to dinners for 200. Some of the available spaces include a large multipurpose space, a sanctuary, a conference room, and a commercial kitchen. A full list of the facilities can be found on the church website. However, Benner-Smith encourages community members to contact the church to check out the spaces in person. Together, he will work with you to find the right space for your event.

Not only does Benner-Smith handle inquiries about the facilities and rental requests, but he himself has experienced firsthand the joy of hosting an event at Saint Luke. Benner-Smith shared, “My family hosted the celebration of our 25th Wedding Anniversary here. It was lovely and elegant, with just the right space we needed for everything we had planned. Hors d’oeuvres in the memorial garden were a big hit.” Knowing what it takes to make an event great, personally and professionally, Benner-Smith believes that Saint Luke could be the place you have been looking for. Similarly, Pastor Sue extends an initiation to the community, “Come and check out the space. We are part of this community and look forward to meeting you.”
