Stoga Softball wins Two to End the Week

Strong pitching and hot bats pave the way

Stoga softball completed the week with two victories. One over Penncrest and the other, a non-league game, over Merion Mercy .

On Friday, the Pioneers had a Central clash with the Penncrest Lions and their ace pitcher Maya Hartman. Conestoga's Lauren Lofland outdueled her Lion counterpart by retiring the first 15 batters that she faced. Meanwhile Olivia Cepielik hit what appeared to be a three run homer that was changed to a ground rule double. That sent Cepielik back to second base and teammate Claire Overton back to third. The next batter, leading hitter, Katie Mayock , ripped a ball into the gap driving in Cepielik and Overton to give Conestoga a 3-0 lead. Stoga would later tack on one more while Lofland nailed down the victory. Lofland finished with 12 strikeouts and allowed only 2 hits.

On Saturday morning Conestoga hosted Merion Mercy Academy. Once again Lofland led the way with 1 hit pitching for three innings and Ellen Fabian finished up the last two, keeping Merion off the board.
