TESD 2024-25 Budget Advances, Proposed Tax Increase To Get June Vote
The district filed for and was approved for a property tax rate increase that have exceeded the Act 1 index of 3.5 percent.
TREDYFFRIN-EASTTOWN, PA — The Tredyffrin/Easttown School Board recently voted to adopt its 2024-25 proposed final budget, and as it stands property owners will likely see a higher real estate tax bill.
The board on April 29 adopted the 2024-25 proposed final budget of $185.7 million.
This proposed final budget has projected revenues of $181.7 million and a $4 million commitment of reserves.

The district filed for and was approved for a property tax rate increase for special education expenditures incurred that have exceeded the inflationary Act 1 index of 3.5 percent.
However, the board will not vote on a property tax rate for the 2024-25 year until its June 10 meeting.

The next opportunity to discuss the budget will be at the upcoming May 13 School Board Finance Committee Meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m. at the Tredyffrin/Easttown Administration Offices.
The board and administration are working to close the $9.6 million budgeted operational deficit through a combination of a property tax rate increase, expenditure reductions and the use of existing reserves.
Public participation is highly encouraged during the budget development process.
All School Board committee meetings are open to the public and have public comment periods. Meeting dates and agendas are available on the district website.
Additionally, public comments may be submitted to Arthur J. McDonnell, Business Manager, or to the T/E School Board.
