TESD Act 1 Tax Index Remains At Base Level
While some districts were granted higher-than-base Act 1 indexes, TESD was not one of them, meaning it will be harder to raise taxes.

WAYNE, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Education released information on how much districts in the state will be able to raise taxes next year without a referendum, and residents in the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District might be happy about the outcome.
According to PDE data, the TESD's Act 1 Tax index is being kept at the state's base level of 2.4 percent, which decreased from 2.5 to 2.4 for the 2018-2019 academic year.
For those unfamiliar with that the Act 1 Tax index is, it limits the districts' ability to raise taxes without having to put the increase to a vote or filing an exemption referendum with the PDE.
