The Art of Recovery Opens at The Wayne Art Center

The new exhibit runs through March 21 and explores the psychological issues behind eating disorders.

Over the next two weeks, the Wayne Art Center will feature one of its most powerful art exhibits of the year thus far, The Art of Recovery. The showcase explores the psychological issues behind eating disorders. Much of the collection was created by women suffering from eating disorders and explores themes connected with the issue.

The exhibit opened Wednesday and runs until March 21.

Although eating disorders are not exclusively a women’s issue, according to the National Eating Disorders Association, sicknesses like anorexia or bulimia affect over 10 million females in the United States alone.
