To All Pennsylvania Drivers:
Traffic Camera Lobbyists Buy Victory in Maryland Legislature. Are they doing the same in Pennsylvania?

Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley (D) is expected to sign into law recently passed legislation authorizing a massive expansion in the use of speed cameras throughout the state. Parties with a direct financial interest in automated ticketing showered members of the Maryland General Assembly and the governor with $707,725 in gifts and campaign cash.

Is massive special interest money behind the drive for speed cameras in Pennsylvania? The camera lobby desperately wants these cameras all over Pennsylvania in spite of proof that they don't improve traffic safety. Why would the Legislature support a bill that puts their constituents' lives in danger? In an election year? Is the tidal wave of money that speed cameras will provide that important?
Your Senator and Representative voted the wrong way on Speed Trap Bill SB 172, authorizing speed cameras, and I want you to call them and tell them to VOTE NO on SB 172. We know that speed cameras are a scam, and this IS an election year.
