Tredyffrin/Easttown School District Says Schools Named In Clown Social Media Posts
T/E Middle School, Conestoga High School were mentioned in posts, statement says.

After Tredyffrin Township Police released information regarding clown threats Monday, the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District put out a statement regarding the unnerving social media trend.
"Like many other schools in our region, some T/ESD schools have been specifically named on social media," the statement says. " As of now, we are aware of references to T/E Middle School and Conestoga High School."
"The Tredyffrin Twp. Police Department was notified of a series of Twitter communications identifying various locations in our township, including schools as potential victims for the 'AngryClown,'" police said in a press release. "Anonymous Twitter users(s) passed along a request to various other accounts asking the Clowns to, 'come to Pennsylvania on Tuesday,' and, 'Come to Devon , PA and visit …'"

The district said its staff and the police in Tredyffrin and Easttown townships are planning to have stronger presences at all of our schools while the Tredyffrin police said Monday the department is investigating "threatening social media communications for any possible police prosecution."
The district also said parents should consider discussing the social media "threats" with their children "to reinforce that any suspicious activity should be reported."

"We take the safety of our students seriously, and we are working with the police on this matter," the district said. "The police encourage anyone with information about who might be responsible for these posts to make a police report."

Philadelphia Police discovered a 13-year-old girl was behind threatening clown social media posts in the city.
Tredyffrin Police are "advising persons to re-consider before participating in any 'copy cat' style behavior that may endanger them or the public at large." Anyone who encounters or is harassed by any persons on public or private property dressed in such attire should contact police directly, police said Monday.
