100s Of Mail Theft Charges Filed Against 2 By Tredyffrin Police
Tredyffrin Police said residents should check bank and credit card statements after two people were recently arrested for mail theft.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Tredyffrin Township took two people into custody recently after they were accused of stealing hundreds of pieces of mail from numerous people in the region.
Court records show Joshua Lee Hartmann, 41, and Jessica Michelle Zipkin, 33, both of Spring City, were charged last week with a slew of crimes by Tredyffrin Police.
Hartmann has been charged by with 437 counts of receiving stolen property, as well as numerous counts of felony identity theft, tampering with records, unlawful use of a computer, and more crimes.

In Montgomery County, Hartmann is also charged with more than 60 counts of crimes including theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and theft by unlawful taking.
Zipkin has been charged with felony forgery, identity theft, and related crimes.

Action News reports the two were part of a theft ring that stole 786 pieces of stolen mail from 143 victims. Victims were in Tredyffrin, Malvern, Lower Providence, Upper Providence, Schuylkill, and Phoenixville, the outlet reports.
Tredyffrin Police told Patch the two stole victims' identities and changed the victims' addresses to their own in Spring City.
Hartmann was taken into custody on a warrant in Tredyffrin last week, police said. Zipkin was taken into custody when police executed a search warrant on Hartmann's home, where the stolen mail was found.
Residents are urged to monitor their financial statements from banks, credit card companies, and more for any suspicious activity due to the nature of the crimes, police said. Additionally, police said residents may want to run credit histories to ensure they weren't victims of this theft operation.
One victim was unable to vote last year due to the mail theft operation, police said.
The investigation is ongoing and may uncover more victims, police said.

Hartmann and Zipkin are scheduled for Feb. 29 preliminary hearings, court records show.
Zipkin is free on $50,000 bail while Hartmann is still in custody, per court documents.
