Tredyffrin Soccer Team Continues Hot Streak With Regional Victory

Well done, boys.

This past weekend, Tredyffrin Easttown Youth Soccer Association’s (TEYSA) Team Ambush U9 boy’s soccer team took first place in the 2015 Fall MAPs Challenge in New Jersey, finishing the tournament with a perfect 4-0-0 record while scoring 20 goals and only conceding 3.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Barry Davey, the team have come into form of late, recently winning the area’s DELCO Division 1 league, also with a perfect record of 8-0-0 with 43 goals scored and only 3 goals conceded.

New Jersey’s best were in attendance at the 2015 Fall MAPs Challenge with teams like Club Tab Ramos (CTR) Gunners looking to repeat their results from the MAPS Summer Challenge where they hoisted the cup. CTR’s affiliation with the current USA Men’s National Team U20 head coach (Tab Ramos) meant any competitor would underestimate them at their peril.

But the boys from TEYSA Ambush had another outcome in mind. With Mikey “twinkle toes” Johnson protecting the goal, the Ambush boys rallied on Saturday to beat Cedar Stars Academy, 3-1. Ambush then faced off against CTR and emerged victorious once again, by a margin of 3-0.

On Sunday, team Ambush controlled possession for the majority of the game against FC Copa Academy, defeating them 9-1. Ambush then faced SDFC in a winner take all battle and within 3 minutes of the starting whistle, Ambush scored a goal on the way to their 5-1 win.
