"This fire was another great example in the past 48 hours of a citizen having a working smoke detector," the fire company said. "As a result, the resident was able to evacuate and call 9-1-1 from a safe location. Smoke detectors save lives!"
On Tuesday, a fire broke out at a home on Rampart Drive in Chesterbrook. The fire company said working smoke detectors made it possible for residents and four pets to be safely evacuated from the home.
