Gas Tanker Truck Partially Flips In Tredyffrin Tuesday

A tanker truck carrying about 5,000 gallons of gas partially overturned in the Wayne section of Tredyffrin Tuesday morning.

WAYNE, PA – A tanker truck carrying thousands of gallons of gasoline partially overturned and spilled some gas in the Wayne section of Tredyffrin Township Tuesday morning, according to officials.

The intersection of West Valley and Pugh roads in Wayne was closed until about 4:45 p.m. as emergency crews worked in the area, according to the Berwyn Fire Company.

At about 11:53 a.m., crews were dispatched to the intersection of West Valley and Pugh roads in Wayne for a report of a single-vehicle accident involving a tanker truck carrying about 5,000 gallons of gasoline, Tredyffrin Township Police said.

Police learned the driver was attempting to turn the truck around at the intersection and when the weight of the trailer shifted, the truck partially overturned.

No one was injured, police said.

A "minimal" amount of fuel was spilled in the incident, according to police. Police said measures have been taken to prevent fuel from running off.

Another truck arrived to the scene and off loaded the gasoline into its own tanker to allow the first truck to be up righted, police said.
