Well, here it is. Since Obama became president of this beautiful country, the land of Thomas Jefferson, Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan, the Food Stamps program in this country has more than doubled.
Today, in this country we have 50% of people working and paying for the other 50% who in some cases, choose to collect a check rather than work and pay into the system.
The United States today is becoming and is on the road of a failed socialist country (Italy of the 50's and 60's) because you cannot keep increasing the welfare state on the shoulders of the few who choose to work and pay taxes.
Now, Obama also wants to tax the rich and businesses, the same people who work hard and provide jobs resulting in the high standard of living that we have been accustomed to.
We heard about the city Detroit, now the Mayor of Philadelphia is asking for $50 million to bail out the schools or come September, some city schools will not have the money to operate. When are we going to understand that spending more than we have will derail this nation and bankrupt this country and then, who will bail out the United States of America?
I believe the American people deserve better than our current system of giving out money just for the asking. Our children deserve a brighter future and that can only occur if we put our financial house in order in the cities, in the states and in Washington. We must do more for our country. We must embrace once again president Kennedy's words of more than 50 years ago when he said, ".ask what you can do for your country, ask not what your country can do for you."
My grandfather, my father and many immigrants who came to this country in years' past, gave to America and as a result this country enjoyed the longest and the high standard of living of any nation on earth. It was their labor and expertise that made this country great.
Today's immigrants come here, learn the system well and take from this country in the form of welfare and other government subsidies. Fifty years ago, America had a soul. That pride, that fabric that was the United States is fast disappearing and soon, we will no longer recognize this country.
I don't even recognize the United States anymore and, it has taken just 50 years. What a shame for a country that had it all and now, cities, states and local governments are in a financial dire strait.
Like someone once said a long time ago, ".you asked for it, now you have it!!!!!"
