• Second GTP Materials Theft Results in Arrest (rocket-courier.com) — Law enforcement arrested a California man in connection with a massive tungsten oxide theft from the GTP plant in North Towanda Township, part of an undercover operation called “Heavy Metal.” He faces multiple felony charges, is being held in Bradford County without bail, and has a preliminary hearing set for August 19.
   

• Sharon McMahon (rocket-courier.com) — Family and friends in Towanda are mourning Sharon M. McMahon, a New Albany native and Wyalusing Valley graduate who built a long civil service career with the Air Force and Department of Defense. She passed away July 27 at her home in Alexandria, Virginia, and is survived by her husband Juan and her mother, Irene McMahon of Towanda, along with siblings, nieces, and nephews.
