Step back in time and join us for a special annual church service where we honor the legacy of some of the earliest settlers in the area! We will have a worship service in Old Trappe Church built in 1743. Special Guest preacher Rev. Karl Krueger will be delivering a homily on our heritage. Following the service, a luncheon and presentation entitled, “Baking for Freedom: Christoph Ludwig, A Lutheran Patriot”, will be delivered. All are welcome - hope to see you there!
Christoph Ludwig, often spelled Ludwick, was a German‑American patriot. Born in Hesse-Darmstadt and trained as a baker, Ludwig settled in Philadelphia and became a trusted leader among the city’s German-speaking community. 
During the Revolutionary War, Congress appointed him “Superintendent of Bakers for the Continental Army”. Refusing personal profit, Ludwig insisted on fair rations for soldiers and became known for his reliability and loyalty to the American cause. Washington called him his “honest friend.” Thanks to Ludwig, thousands of soldiers received daily bread, which often made the difference between endurance and collapse. 
In his will, he left money to help poor children attend school, showing his dedication to education. His legacy continues through the Christopher Ludwick Foundation, which upholds his mission in 2026. 
When Ludwig died in 1801, he was buried in the churchyard of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Germantown.

Come out and celebrate the 4th of July at the Upper Salford's 38th Annual Red, White and Blue Parade - Rain or Shine! The parade is great FUN! Bring lawn chairs and your friends, neighbors and relatives to watch or participate in the "Citizen's" sponsored parade. 
Decorate a float, bicycle or be a festooned walker. Prizes for Best Decorated Bicycle, Best Festooned Walker, Best Large &amp; Small Float, and Best Tractor. New this year is our Grand Prize Winner for Most Patriotic!&nbsp;Spectators and participants welcome! Old Fashioned Relay Races, Antique Cars and Tractors and Baked Goods! FREE! Hot Dogs, Birch Beer and Cake at the Upper Salford Firehouse! Line-up and Parade Registration begins at 9:15AM and closes at 9:50AM&nbsp;near the bottom of Potato Road in Upper Salford. Registration is only needed if you want to compete for a prize. The parade begins at 10AM at the corner of Old Skippack Pike and Potato Road in Salfordville and continues east down Old Skippack Pike to the Upper Salford Firehouse. 
Please approach Potato Road from Old Sumneytown Pike, NOT Old Skippack Road. We encourage all parade vehicles to continue onto Shelley Road, Schwenksville Road, or Old Skippack after passing the fire company at the end of the parade route.

The annual Purcellville Wine and Food Festival returns on Saturday, July 18, in Dillon’s Woods at the historic Fireman’s Field Complex (250 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville). The festival will take place from 2 to 8 p.m., inviting guests to gather with family and friends for an afternoon and evening of local wine, beer, food, live music, art, and more.
This year’s event will showcase 40 vendors, including wineries, breweries, food and snack vendors, and local exhibitors. Enjoy live music performances by the Rick Reaves Band, The Darby Brothers, and the Franklin Park Big Band. The “Arts in the Garden” section, hosted by the Purcellville Arts Council, will highlight local artists who will create works of art live on-site. Additional activities include face painting and a photo stand-in booth. 
Early bird ticket pricing is available through 5 p.m. on July 17: 
• Early bird admission (ages 17 and over): $5 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink tickets (6 oz wine or 12 oz beer): $8.50 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink ticket package: 4 tickets for $32 (+ tax) 
• Early bird bottle of wine purchase: $35 (+ tax), available from participating wineries (bottles must be consumed on-site)
A souvenir glass will be provided with the purchase of the first drink ticket. Save time and money by purchasing your tickets in advance. 
The popular VIP experience returns for $275 (+ tax) and includes admission for six, a reserved table for six, three bottles of local wine, six souvenir glasses, six drink tickets, early entry to the festival, special commemorative gifts, and a selection of sweets and savories for the table.

Exciting, spectacular, dazzling, breathtaking, exhilarating, spirited, soulful, enchanting, captivating, and intriguing – modest words which describe but by no means capture the essence of Ukrainian folk art, music, song and dance.From the rich color and deep symbolism of the delicate “pysanka” (Ukrainian Easter Egg) to the thunderous, power, rhythm and strength of “HOPAK” – the world’s most exciting ethnic dance, and every brilliant “Kolomiyka” (polka) and soulful folk song in between, experience the UKRAINIAN FOLK FESTIVAL 2026, celebrating the 35th anniversary of our ancestral homeland’s independence.
