• Fayette County students recognized in the arts (heraldstandard.com) — Fayette County’s top young artists, musicians, and actors—including students from Uniontown Area High School—have been honored with 2026 Achievement in the Arts Awards. The program, now in its 12th year, provides recognition and stipends to schools across the county, underscoring the importance of arts education and celebrating students nominated by their own teachers and peers.
   

• Uniontown Post 51 edges Smithfield-Fairchance (heraldstandard.com) — Uniontown Post 51’s American Legion squad pulled off a dramatic 4-3 walk-off win over Smithfield-Fairchance in Hopwood, rallying from a three-run deficit and scoring the winner on a sacrifice fly. Uniontown, now 2-0, got five strong relief innings from Noah Zawislan and will host Belle Vernon tonight at 7 p.m., giving local fans another chance to see the hot start.
