• Washington County man charged in July assault (heraldstandard.com) — A woman was allegedly beaten with a tire iron on Locust Street in Uniontown in late July, and a third suspect has now been arrested. Police say Jonathan Godines joined two previously charged co-defendants in the attack, and all three face aggravated assault and related counts, with preliminary hearings scheduled in September and October.
• 'The American Birth Story': Uniontown woman interviewing mothers to share their experience (observer-reporter.com) — A Uniontown mother is leading a new project, The American Birth Story, to record detailed birth experiences from women in the area and across the country. Drawing on her own struggles to find trusted maternity care, she's conducting video interviews and questionnaires to gather both personal stories and data, aiming to create a documentary-style film that empowers future mothers to seek supportive care teams.
• Southern XC vies at multiple events (wvnews.com) — Uniontown hosted the A.J. Everhart Invitational at Penn State Fayette, where Southern's girls cross country team finished sixth in a tightly packed field and Uniontown's squads placed well in team standings. The article recaps individual and team performances there and at a subsequent invitational, plus previews the Rams' next championship meet.
