Ambler Choral Society Begins its 2016-2017 Season

Ambler Choral Society History and Information about rehearsals and upcoming concerts

In 1979, choir members from various Ambler churches joined in a performance
of Handel's Messiah. Many of the singers enjoyed it so much that they decided
to continue as a group. They formed the Ambler Community Singers, which in 1996
was renamed the Ambler Choral Society. Mark Daugherty became the Artistic
Director in 1985, and ACS continues today under his expert direction. ACS
performs many staples of the choral repertoire, including Classical pieces,
Musical Theater, and Americana favorites.

The Ambler Choral Society season includes two concerts each year, a holiday
and spring concert, along with various public charitable appearances.
Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from September through April, excluding
December. Anyone wishing to join may contact the choir at www.amblerchoralsociety.org or
Ambler Choral Society, PO Box 134, Ambler, PA 19002. Rehearsals began September
6 at 7:30 PM. If you're a singer, please join us! It's not too late.

This season's winter holiday concert will be presented on November 27, 2016
at 3:00PM and includes John Rutter's Magnificat, Eric Whitacre's Glow and other Christmas and Hunakkah favorites. The spring concert will be held on April 23, 2017. Concerts and rehearsals are held at Supplee
Presbyterian Church, 855 East Welsh Road, Maple Glen, PA 19002.
