WILL SYLIANTENG RELEASES A JOB CREATION PLAN AND SPEAKS ABOUT TERM LIMITS

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA: Will Sylianteng released his 4 point job creation plan, which he will advocate for in the State House, and announces his intention to seek no more than 3 terms in the State House. 

"The plan is a balanced approach to job creation, which acknowledges the failings in our current corporate tax scheme, but also respects the fact that we cannot put all of our eggs in one natural gas fueled basket" said Sylianteng.  "Unlike my opponent, who has spent his entire career collecting a government paycheck, I come from the private sector and will work to foster a competitive business climate for Pennsylvania businesses, small and large".

Additionally, Sylianteng spoke of the problem with Harrisburg. "We have too many career politicians - ever shifting to keep their jobs and raise money for their next re-election, this needs to stop.  While I do not believe every politician in Harrisburg is this way, I do believe for most, the longer you stay there the longer you become that type of politician. I believe in term limits and campaign finance reform.  I will advocate for those changes in Harrisburg and I pledge that I will limit myself to no more than 3 terms.  We have problems that we need to fix.  I want to be part of the solution, not add to the problem."

• Advocating for Pennsylvanians to be put back to work repairing and retrofitting our roads, bridges, and tunnels:  Infrastructure repairs are much needed and these are jobs that cannot be outsourced overseas.

• Lower the corporate income tax rate and close loopholes that allow corporations making money in Pennsylvania to transfer that money to other states, thereby bypassing paying Pennsylvania income tax: Pennsylvania has one of the highest Corporate Income Tax Rates (9.99%).  This is unfair to business and is inapposite to healthy competition with our neighbors.  We need to lower this rate.  However, we cannot do so without also closing loopholes like the “Delaware loophole” which allows corporations to “shift” profits to states with lower tax rates.

• Invest in Training: Having worked my entire career in the private sector, I recognize that during an economic slump, the best thing a business can invest in is job training, so that it can hit the ground running when the economy turns around.  If elected, I will advocate for legislation that will give tax credits to businesses who will train their employees for the jobs of the future, so that Pennsylvania doesn’t lose out on those jobs.  I would also work to foster partnerships between public colleges and universities and the private sector to create a workforce fully capable of taking on these new jobs.

• Foster Renewable Energy Development: For too long, this Governor and this legislature have been very narrowly focused on the natural gas industry.  While I agree that responsible and safe natural gas drilling must be part of the plan for job growth and energy independence, we cannot afford to be “all in” on one industry, neglecting all others.  That is why I would introduce legislation to help make Pennsylvania a leader in the development of Renewable (“Green”) Energies (like solar, wind and hydroelectric) and the products associated with the harnessing of this energy.
