For the Latest District and Township Dates and Events, Go Online, Go Paperless

This is an environmentally sound decision that reduces paper consumption and saves energy and money.

UPPER DUBLIN TOWNSHIP---The School District of Upper Dublin and Upper Dublin Township will maintain up-to-date calendar information on their respective websites exclusively, eliminating the need for a printed 2015-2016 District/Township calendar. This decision promotes environmentally friendly practices and ensures that school and township events, including trash/recycling dates and leaf collection listings, are updated continually to provide the public with accurate and timely information.

Community members who are seeking information about District dates and events should visit www.udsd.org. The District calendar appears on the homepage and users can click on the link for a month-by-month overview of District-wide postings as well as school-specific highlights. The calendar, which is currently a draft version, is in the process of being formatted for clarity and refined as events are finalized. For those who prefer to use a paper version, the calendar can be downloaded and printed.

Community members who are not on the internet should direct their questions to the District at 215-643-8800. Printed versions of the District online calendar will be available at the District’s Human Resources office (1580 Fort Washington Ave., Maple Glen, PA) and the Upper Dublin Public Library (805 Loch Alsh Ave., Fort Washington, PA) after August 15, 2015.

The Township’s website, which contains comprehensive information, including trash collection, recycling and leaf collection, can be accessed by going to www.upperdublin.net. Simply click “Departments,” select “Public Works,” and choose from the list of topics. Residents who cannot access the internet may call the Township at 215-643-1600 with questions.

“With so much information available online, it seemed inefficient to publish a calendar. Online calendars allow us to make changes in real-time to ensure that dates, times and other details are current,” said Upper Dublin School District Superintendent Deborah Wheeler. “Moreover, users can download and sync the online calendar with their personal devices. The calendar will then update automatically and users will receive event alerts and notifications.”

Dr. Wheeler further explained, “In the long-term, this is an environmentally sound decision that reduces paper consumption and saves energy and money, allowing the District to invest the cost savings in school programs and initiatives.”
