Maundy Thursday at 12 noon & 7:30 PM
Observe Maundy Thursday with Trinity Lutheran Church of Fort Washington at noon or 7:30 PM on April 2, 2015.
This day is often called, “Maundy Thursday,” because it is the day when the people of God receive a new commandment from Jesus to, “Love one another.” We read from the Gospel of John how Jesus celebrates the Passover meal and washes his disciples’ feet on their last night together. We celebrate this day with Holy Communion and receive forgiveness through this special meal. The service ends with the stripping of the altar which reminds us of Christ‘s love for us laid bare. This is a very powerful service.
