UD Senior Edward Alldred is Eastern Student of the Month
The Upper Dublin senior, in his second year in Eastern Center for Arts and Technology's Protective Services program, was awarded student of the month for March.

Edward Alldred is the March 2011 Student of the Month at Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (Eastern) in Willow Grove. He is in his second year of Eastern’s Protective Services program and a senior at Upper Dublin High School.
The Student of the Month Award is sponsored by Eastern’s faculty, Joint Committee and the Willow Grove Rotary Club to highlight student excellence, success and service. Ten students each year are selected for this honor.
At Eastern, Alldred is a student presenter for the recruitment program, Career Expo. He is a student ambassador for the Protective Services program, and he has received various certifications through this program, such as CPR and First Aid, and Hazardous Materials Awareness. He is the Protective Services Occupational Advisory Committee Student Representative for 2010 -2011.
Alldred is currently the SkillsUSA Class Treasurer for Protective Services. SkillsUSA is a national student organization promoting good citizenship, student leadership, professionalism and teamwork, and it recognizes student achievement and excellence.
Alldred is a volunteer firefighter at Wissahickon Fire Company. At Upper Dublin High School, Alldred is on the baseball team. He currently works at the Flourtown Bakery, and he is an usher at St. Anthony-St. Joseph’s Church.
“Edward is intelligent and determined,” said Walter Kenney, Eastern’s Protective Services Instructor. “He sets a great example for the class, and I have no doubt he will accomplish all of his future goals. He will make an outstanding firefighter.”
Alldred will attend the University of Maryland for fire science and management. He plans on becoming a professional firefighter.
